Introduction:

IBM’s Fusion Data Foundation Engineering team is looking for a Software Engineer / Backend Developer to join their Bangalore office. This role involves designing and delivering next-generation storage offerings built for the hybrid cloud. As a part of this dynamic team, you will focus on distributed computing, storage systems, and serviceability routines while collaborating across teams to ensure reliability, scalability, and performance.

Your Role and Responsibilities:

• Design and deploy software components for IBM’s storage offerings.
• Work with engineering teams to ensure solutions meet performance, scalability, availability, and security goals.
• Provide technical feedback, review APIs, and test new features.
• Research new technologies, architectures, and standards to enhance solutions.
• Collaborate with customer-facing teams to resolve complex technical challenges.
• Build community engagement by contributing articles, conference presentations, and technical discussions.
• Participate in open-source developer forums, mailing lists, and social media communities.

Requirements:

• Hands-on understanding of cloud platforms and distributed storage systems.
• Experience with scalability, performance analysis, and optimization.
• Strong software design, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
